Parsonage house. 1892. Probably by TM Lockwood at expense of the first Duke of Westminster. Stone-dressed brick with blue diapering; red-brown tile roof, double-depth. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 2 bays. Recessed wing, left, has 3 stone steps to door of 2;1;2 panels; the front has a square 2-storey bay window with Ionic corner pilasters to each storey; a 3-light mullioned and transomed ground floor window with patterned leads to upper lights, that at centre round-arched; the west bay has 2 cross-windows with leaded upper lights. Moulded first-floor band; a 4-light mullioned and transomed casement, upper lights leaded, in bay window; a 3-light mullioned window right; diapering. A shaped gable above the bay window has string-course rising above a 2-light attic window, coping with volutes and finial. The right side to Love Street has projecting stone-dressed chimney, moulded string and leaded cross-casement to first floor, diapering and 2 shaped gables. The rear has diapered upper storey, leaded cross-window to stair. The left side has pair of cross-windows to first floor, diapering and shaped gable with 3 ball finials. INTERIOR not inspected, but noted to retain most original features. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: garden wall of stone-banded brick with moulded coping curving down to panels with wrought-iron railings, between piers.
