CHESTER CITY (EM) SJ4066 QUEEN'S PLACE 1932-1/6/237 (East side) 10/01/72 Nos.9-15 (Odd) (Formerly Listed as: QUEEN STREET Nos.36 AND 38) GV II 2 town houses, now flats. Dated 1779. Flemish bond brown brick; grey slate roof. Cellars and 3 storeys; 2-storey left wing to No.9, of separate build. Painted stone plinth; 2 steps, those to No.9 altered, two doors of 6 fielded panels in cases with fluted pilasters, friezes and pediments; flush sashes; painted stone sills; rusticated wedge lintels with projecting keys. The ground floor has a 16-pane sash with pilasters in left wing, a tripartite 4;12;4-pane sash to right of each door; first-floor sillband; a 16-pane sash in pilastered case in left wing; four 12-pane sashes in main block. The second floor has 4 unequal 9-pane sashes. Central rainwater pipe with upper bracket dated 1779 beneath ornate cast lead rainwater head; painted stone cornice; 3 ridge chimneys. Rear rendered; fenestration altered. INTERIORS not inspected. Listing NGR: SJ4086166586
