Public house. Dated 1770, with C19 and C20 alterations. Brown Flemish bond brick; grey slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, double-fronted, with later 2-storey 1-bay wing, right. 5-panel door with 3-pane overlight in simple timber pilaster case; flush sashes with thick glazing-bars, painted stone sills and rusticated wedge lintels with projecting false keystones: a 12-pane sash to each side of door and one in 2-storey wing, all with square panes, to ground floor; similar sashes to first floor, but narrower with "golden section" panes; two shorter 6-pane sashes to second floor. Datestone inscribed "PH:1770"; moulded cornice; 7-course brick parapet with simple painted stone coping; flush gable chimney, left; longitudinal chimney behind the ridge, right. The north side to Victoria Place has a panelled apron below a window of 3 round-headed fixed lights, flanked by 2 blocked doorways, all with fluted pilasters. The first floor has 2 sashes, now of 4 panes, flanking a stone-framed rectangular panel painted "ODDFELLOWS ARMS". Pair of sashes, now 4-pane, to second floor. Stone-framed Palladian-window-shaped panel to base of gable. Unbroken brick joint to rear wing with a 4-pane sash to ground and first floors. INTERIOR: partly "opened up" indicates former double-fronted plan; the right rooms, front and back, have altered back-to-back inglenooks.
