Description

CHESTER CITY (EM) SJ4166 EGERTON STREET 1932-1/6/92 (East side) Nos.41 AND 43 GV II Pair of town houses. 1829-33, converted to flats late C20. Flemish bond brown brick; grey slate hipped mansard roof. No.41 has a flush 16-pane horned sash to ground and first floors. No.43 is modified to give front doorway of 4 fielded panels with 3-pane overlight in timber case; glazing bars removed from sashes; each house has a 6-pane gabled dormer sash. The left side of No.41 has replaced door of 6 fielded panels in glazed screen with a flush 12-pane horned sash to each side; the first floor has 3 similar sashes; the attic storey has 3 flush 6-pane sashes. The right side of No.43 is built against by an inserted cottage. A central chimney. The rear has a 16-pane flush sash to No.41, first floor, and No.43 a similar but 4-pane sash; a pair of 6-pane gabled dormer sashes. INTERIORS not inspected. Listing NGR: SJ4105566721
