Description

CHESTER CITY (EM) SJ4166 EGERTON STREET 1932-1/6/91 (East side) Nos.37 AND 39 II Pair of town houses, now flats. 1829-33 refurbished 1980s. Flemish bond brown brick; grey slate hipped mansard roof. 2 storeys plus attic, one bay per house, of substantial depth. No plinth; recessed brick panel possibly replacing former central sash; a flush 12-pane horned sash to each side; 2 similar 12-pane sashes to first floor; parapet with simple painted stone coping; pair of 6-pane gabled dormer sashes; coped fronts to gables; central chimney. The sides are symmetrical. The left side has replaced door of 6 fielded panels in altered glazed screen with a flush 12-pane horned sash to each side. 3 flush 12-pane horned sashes to first floor; 2 flush 6-pane horned sashes to attic. The right side is similar, but with radial-bar overlight to door, rear ground floor window opening blocked, with smaller window inserted further back. The rear has a pair of flush 12-pane sashes to first floor; two 6-pane gabled dormers. INTERIOR not inspected. Listing NGR: SJ4105066737
