Description

CHESTER CITY (EM) SJ4167 BROOK STREET 1932-1/9/22 (South East side) Nos.120, 122 AND 124 GV II Row of 3 cottages. 1830s. Flemish bond brown brick with grey slate roof, ridge parallel with front. 2 storeys, one bay per cottage. Painted stone plinth; doors of 6 fielded panels with radial-bar fanlights in simply-detailed round-arched openings; painted stone sills; first-floor sillband; wedge lintels; window openings unaltered. The ground floor has a nearly flush 16-pane sash to No.120; No.122 has a replaced window with 16 panes; No.124 has replaced casements. The first floor has a slightly-recessed 16-pane sash to No.120, a replaced 16-pane window to No.122 and a replaced casement to No.124. Moulded cornice and 1-course parapet of painted stone; a brick chimney before the ridge and one behind it to each cottage. INTERIORS not inspected; the rear is not visible from public viewpoints.
