CHESTER CITY (EM) SJ4166 BOUGHTON 1932-1/6/13 (North side) 10/01/72 No.123 (Formerly Listed as: BOUGHTON No.123 Richmond House) GV II Detached house. c1840 with probably earlier core to rear wing. Flemish bond red brick; basement rendered; front and rear ranges have parallel grey slate roofs. Basement and 2 storeys; 5 windows. The basement has 2 blocked sash openings left and openings joined to hold a broad C20 metal window, right. Ground floor sillband to 5 recessed 12-pane sashes, the glass of that at centre painted out. First-floor band; sillband; 5 recessed 9-pane sashes, glass in one painted out; entablature to central window opening of each floor, simple wedge lintels to other windows. Broad boxed eaves to hipped roof, ridge parallel with front. Entrance at left end of rear range has 6 stone steps to door of 6 fielded panels with large radial-bar fanlight in Ionic porch with column and pilaster at each side and full entablature to flat canopy; a recessed 12-pane sash to ground floor; a 6-pane sash and a 9-pane sash to first floor; a mid C19 added broken-pediment gable.
