Description

CHESTER CITY (EM) SJ4166 BOUGHTON 1932-1/6/12 (North side) 10/01/72 Nos.119 AND 121 and garden wall GV II Pair of town houses and front garden wall, now flats. Early C19, altered. Flemish bond brown brick; grey slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 windows. Verandah and balcony, probably mid C19, with 11 latticed timber supports, timber balcony and C20 railing. 4 pairs of fully-glazed French windows, 3-pane to ground floor and 4 shorter panes to first floor; all openings have gauged brick flat arches. Broad boxed eaves and verges; a large central chimney and a small chimney on stone corbel at first floor on right end, both before the ridge. A small, unobtrusive extension on right end. The rear is altered. INTERIOR not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: garden wall, probably formerly of coursed red sandstone but now with central portion rebuilt in brick; sandstone returns to house and outer portions of front wall; original stone coping to rebuilt portion.
