3/3 Churchyard walls and gateway to Church of St Oswald.
GV II
Walls of various builds surrounding churchyard. Coursed sandstone with stone copings which are chamfered, convex or have roll moulding. South wall is broken by flight of 5 sandstone steps from lane with stone rail on stone and part rebuilt brick wall, and timber lychgate (1898) on stone base. West wall has inscribed stone: the western and south side of this wall was restd AD 1789. North wall has gateway, 1774, repaired at rear. Sandstone piers with recessed rectangular panels support moulded cornices, semi-circular gate head with roll mouldings and scroll returns. Each voussoir bears shield, mostly worn. Central voussoir dated 1774. Flat stone coping rises from wall over gateway.
