3/22 Pedestal cenotaph to Thos.Cawley and others by chancel door of Church of St.Peter
GV II
Cenotaph: dated 1795. Ashlar buff sandstone. Pedestal with a panel on each face edged with a bead mould. Inscription on north side reads:
"THOMAS CAWLEY, Surgn.Genl.to the Army, died in Barbados May 6th 1795 aged 39. STEPHEN CAWLEY died in Jamaica the 12th day of Oct.1803 aged 42"
Rectangular capstone has strongly fluted sides and a steep-sided concave top with finial.
