Description

SJ 45 SE BROXTON C.P. OLD COACH ROAD 8/24 Broxton Old Hall 22/10/1952 GV II Hall circa 1600 extended to sides and rear and heavily restored, partly by John Douglas in 1873. Oak framed with plaster panels. Stone-slate roofs with ornate bargeboards and finials; chimneys with detached diagonal flues. The central (original) part of the front has 2 gables. Wings recessed left and projecting right, each of 1 gable. 2 storeys. Small frame with quadrant braces in centrepiece and right wing; herringbone in left wing. Part of the upper storey and the gables are slightly jettied. Bressumers carved, probably C19. Gabled porch, almost central; replaced boarded door of oak. Windows of oak, those to lower storey mullioned and transomed, to upper storey mullioned; all have restored leaded glazing. Listing NGR: SJ4870453288
