GV II Manor house. Front of left cross-wing probably circa 1600; right wing 1635 largely cased in brick mid C19. Oak frame and white-painted brick on sandstone plinth; gabled grey slate roof; massive ridge chimney of sandstone has three detached diagonal flues of brick; lateral chimney (left) has one diagonal flue. Of two storeys, the C16/C17 part is of three rooms with a late C20 one-room extension, right, in keeping. The cross-gable has small-frame panels beneath a central C20 small-pane timber casement to each storey; chevron framing to each side and lattice framing to gable. Tops of corner-posts are jowled; no jetties. Dormer-gable to central bedroom has jettied tie-beam carved 1635 HIX.. Mid C20 open oak-framed porch. C20 small-pane timber casements in brick-cased portion.
Interior: the central room (great hall) has stone ingle-nook with massive chamfered oak hood-beam and alcove with large stone corbels to rear; ovolo stop-chamfered beams. Rooms to left and right have chamfered oak beams; some oak-framed internal walls. The three bedrooms have oak-framed walls, queen-strut trusses and purlins; the lattice-framed gable is exposed in left bedroom.
