Description
SJ 4161 EATON C.P. ECCLESTON APPROACH (East side) Eaton Park
8/61 Eaton Estate Office
II
Estate Office (built as The Laundry House), 1880, by Alfred Waterhouse. 2 storey red brick with stone dressings and half-timbered gables. Red tile roofs. A square building with separate coach-house linked across porch. The square plan is relieved by much picturesque detailing; many-gabled steep roofs, varied brick chimneys, one with circular spiral moulded stack. Raised diaper brickwork to porch gable. Stone mullioned and transomed windows, most with original leaded glazing. Flat-roofed extension, probably later, on west side with stone balustraded brick parapet to form first floor balcony. (Pevsner & Hubbard). Interior: Not inspected.
