Cottage: probably late C17, with C18 windows. Rendered rubble stone on natural sandstone base. Thatched roof now covered by corrugated iron. 1 ridge brick chimney. 2-room plan with door into hall. 2-storey, 3-bay front. Left end corner is rounded to follow line of rock. Windows are casements with glazing bars, in upper storey one projects into the thatch. C20 door at right end approached by worn stone steps. Old hydrant sign on front. Circular light to rear. Interior: Plan intact. Exposed beams and joists are replacements. Stair moved from end wall to over the central fireplace.
