Description

BEESTON C.P. CASTLE ROAD SJ 55 NW 5/7 The Lodge at Beeston castle GV II Castle gateway. Mid/late C19. Snecked sandstone rubble. Two storeys. Road front: Bartizan arrangement with central recessed flat wall and circular walls to either side. Pointed arch to centre with rebate and cross window above in chamfered surround. Circular towers to either side with windows of 2 x 3 panes at ground floor level in chamfered surrounds. Pointed windows to first floor with chamfered surrounds and 2 x 3 panes. All windows have iron bars in front of them. Extensive C20 additions and alterations to left and rear. Listed for group value with the castle ruins. Listing NGR: SJ5401259073
