House, c.1880, by John Douglas for 1st Duke of Westminster. Squared rubble sandstone walls with half-timbered gables. Patterned red and blue tiled roofs. 4 shaped red brick chimneys and 1 plain chimney. Stone mullioned windows to ground floor, some under labels. Timber windows with cast iron opening lights to first floor. Leaded glazing all removed. Boarded door in recessed porch. Doorway at north-east corner of house blocked. Interior: Some 4-panel doors with moulded stiles and rails; 'L' shaped open staircase in large hall, with shaped square newels and flat balusters of restrained art noveau character. Common brick single storey tile roofed outbuilding to west, with stone surrounds and mullions to windows.
