Listed Building: STABLE BLOCK AT ASHLEY HALL FARM (1329656)

SJ 78 SE 4/5 ASHLEY C.P. Stable block at Ashley Hall Farm (formerly listed with Ashley Hall) 5.3.59 GV II Stable block in forecourt. Mid C18. Red Flemish bond brick with stone dressings and slate roof. Court front of 2 storeys and 9 bays in 1.1.2.1.2.1.1 rhythm (some window openings now bricked in). Central doorway with moulded stone surround, frieze and pediment. Bays 2 and 8 have doorcases with stone surrounds and friezes above. End bays project slightly. Central square air vent on roof ridge has opening of Venetian-window outline. C20 window frames in openings with skew-back arches of gauged brick and keystones. Rear of buildings also symmetrical but with 6 windows. The four central ones (probably original) on the upper floor have stone surrounds. Listing NGR: SJ7696884876
