SJ97SW HURDSFIELD ROAD 886-1/4/95 (South side) Church of the Holy Trinity
II
Parish church. 1837-8. By William Hayley. Well coursed and squared stone with slate roof. Commissioners' Gothic style, with single span roof, west tower and shallow chancel. Integral west tower, with west doorway with paired lancet windows over, and clock in lozenge panel above. Paired bell chamber lights in upper stage. Parapet with angle pinnacles. Nave divided into 4 bays by narrow buttresses, each with stepped lancet windows. Very shallow chancel with Decorated 5-light window. INTERIOR largely refitted, a single span with west organ gallery (screened off below). Chancel fittings (reredos etc) installed 1939. Late C19 figurative stained glass in E window.
