Common Carr Farmhouse.

Farmhouse: late C17 but date of 1741 reportedly found. C19 and C20 alterations. English garden wall bond red brick. Welsh slate roof and 1 brick ridge chimney. Sawtooth brick band at 1st floor. End bays have 3-light wooden casements where 2 windows, with flat brick heads, used to be. 2-light wooden casements above. Near central doorway with segmentally arched rough brick head. Gables have a raised brick band at 1st floor and a dentilated band at eaves level. 3 ventilation holes in each gable have raised brick lozenge-shaped surrounds. To rear are 2 small wooden mullioned and transomed windows with lattice-leaded glazing and a small C19 extension. Interior: 2-room plan with door opening onto wooden baffle (now papered over). Chamfered ceiling beams with flat and tongue stops.
