II
Formerly farmhouse, now house: Later C17 with C19 and C20 alterations. Coursed, buff sandstone rubble. Kerridge stone-slate roof with stone ridge. Rectangular plan with originally a gable-entry by the stack into main room and 2 pairs of rooms beyond. Single storey and attic. 4-bay west front. C19 2-light wooden casements and single gabled dormer. C20 glass door inserted towards left. In left gable remains of hood mould and 3 massive roof timbers exposed. Interior: Heck post C20 replacement but all beams (including minor members) chamfered with flat stops in main room. Timber-framed room partitions. In attic, tiebeam and collar roof truss with truly massive overlapping purlins (one forked) and ridge.
