3/102 Pool and fountain before south front of Orangery.
GV II
c1860. Sandstone. Circular pool with central pedestal supporting two bowls to form a cascading series. Pool rim rounded and carved with large-scale petal motif. Pedestal base of cross shape with concave angles, surmounted by leaf scrolls. Bowed column with leaf motifs at base and spiral-fluted body. 1st bowl with band of gadrooned decoration to body and large-scale petal decoration to lip. Further, rather squat column rising to second bowl similar to that below but shallower.
