SJ 97 NW 2/61 HURDSFIELD C.P. DONCASTER HILL (North side) Doncasterhill Farmhouse and the attached farm buildings II Farmhouse and attached farmbuildings: c.1700, farmbuildings extended C18, end wall and addition to house mid C19. Coursed squared buff and pink sandstone rubble. Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge and 2 stone chimneys. Farmhouse has 2-storey, 4-bay front. 1st and 3rd bays have 2-light wooden casements under stone lintels, the upper ones in barge-boarded half dormers with heavy roof timbers. Door between under plain stone lintel. Rubble band at 1st floor level. Right end bay has a single light. Interior: Chamfered ceiling beams. Timber framed partition wall (hidden) and a dogleg flight of stone steps. Attached farmbuildings form the north range of a courtyard, and have 2 successive additions, making a long corn and hay barn. Openings under plain stone lintels and a line of ventilation slots above. Interior: Earliest element has a roof truss of tiebeam, 2 diagonal struts and a collar, and through purlins and a ridge.
