5/13 Garden walls at Gawsworth Old Hall
GV II
Circuit of garden walls. C16 with later additions and alterations. English bond and random bond brick with ashlar dressings. Large rectangular brick enclosure with bowed wall at southern end. Slightly projecting plinth with ashlar quoins at southern corners and ashlar coping sloping towards outer face. Blocked pedestrian entry at centre of bowed section and another to the north of eastern wall adjacent which is a stretch of renewed walling. Further wide entry at southern end of eastern wall.
