5/44 Stables at North Rode Manor
GV II
Stable block (now partially converted to house). c.1830. Red brick with ashlar dressings and slate roof with lead flashings. One and two storeys. Entrance front: Central slightly projecting two storey bay with basket arch to ground floor with stone springers and medieval boss used as keystone. First floor has two quatrefoil openings with stone surrounds. Sprocketed pyramidal roof above. Single storey ranges to either side with altered C19 and C20 fenestration. To either side of these are projecting 2-storey wings. Right hand wing has garage doors imposed to ground floor courtyard face and basket arch with stone springers and keystone to hipped end. Left hand wing now converted to house with imposed windows, door etc.
