SJ 96 NW 1/5 BOSLEY C.P. Stiles Meadow Farmhouse II Farmhouse, early to mid C17 and C18 with small C20 extension. The C17 parts have brick-nogged oak frames, rendered at front with stone at plinth level and to front gable wall; the C18 wing is of white painted stone. Kerridge stone-slate roofs. Of l½ storeys. Three portions, each of 1 bay; cross-gable, right, has painted rubble front, small-panel mid C17 oak frame at rear and lateral stone chimney on right wall, partly hidden by C20 single-storey lean-to; the central portion has small-panel early or mid C17 oak frame with heavy timbers, exposed, at rear but rendered at front; the left wing of painted stone is probably C18 with no visible features. Gabled central oak-framed porch, originally open but with recently fitted outer door. Ridge chimney opposite porch and left gable chimney of brick. Some frame members are cut out to receive C19 vernacular small-pane wood casements (2 replaced by late C20 small-pane windows at front). The Interior has massive chamfered oak beams (one with pegholes suggesting former baffle-post to lobby entry, with altered inglenook behind). Jowls to beams in both storeys. The crosswing has a tongue-stopped chamfered oak beam. Internal oak framing is visible in central portion and cross-wing. Two plain enclosed stairs. Listing NGR: SJ9295665014
