4/65 The Cobbles and The Barn.
GV II Also known as Nos I & 2 Chorley Hall Close. Formerly barn and shippon for Chorley Old Hall, now 2 houses: C16 with late C18 outshuts and C20 alterations to houses. Timber framed with brick nogging on stone plinth, with continuous outshut in purple red brick. Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge and 2 brick chimneys. North front of 16 by 3 regular small frames with angle bracing of wall plate. All openings now C20, the windows with glazing bars, and 3 dormers added. Addition to right end and of continuous outshut to rear caused alteration to roof line. Interior: Timber framing intact and a timber framed partition wall. Roof trusses of tiebeam and collar and trusses in outshut of re-used earlier timber.
