SJ 87 NE 5/98 MOTTRAM ST.ANDREW C.P. WILMSLOW ROAD (East Side) Legh Hall (formerly listed as Lee Hall) 14/4/1967 GV II Formerly hall, now house: early - mid C18 with late C19 additions and C20 alterations. Flemish bond red brick with yellow headers. Welsh slate roof, 2 gable brick chimneys. 2½ storey, symmetrical 5-bay front (2:1:2). Plastered chamfered plinth and modillion cornice. End bays have 12 pane sashes under flat gauged and rubbed brick heads with stone keyblocks and sills. Breaking the cornice are 2 C20 gabled half dormers. Central bay steps forward slightly and has an eared architrave with raised keyblock to door of 8 lozenge shaped panels with raised fields. 12-pane sash above. Added to left are 2 late C19 bays with large windows with fixed glazing bars and considerable additions to rear. Interior: Oak dogleg stair with turned column balusters and shaped handrail. Some 2-panelled doors with raised fields and a C17 6-panelled door to cellar. Extensions have some grand French style early C20 fireplaces. Listing NGR: SJ8847878229
