Farmhouse, now dwelling. Early C17 with cross wing dated 1697 and with later alterations. Rendered brick nogged timber-frame and stone dressed brickwork with slate roof and stone copings with kneelers; stone stack. EXTERIOR: the earlier timber-framed section is single storeyed with an attic, of 2 bays with a single bay wing at the rear. The added brick section has 2 storey and attic, 1 bay. Cross wing has stone plinth. Large framing in lightweight timbers with small arch braces. The apparent medieval appearance of the facade is not confirmed by the interior fabric. Softwood flush leaded casements in pairs. The single attic window set within gabled half dormer. The cross wing has flush stone quoins. Projecting brick bands over first and second floor window heads, that at second floor with dentil feature. Two elliptical openings in gable surmounted by square tablet inscribed `I. W.E.' and the date. 3-light ogee stone mullion window ground floor and mullion and transom first floor, both with rectangular leaded glazing. INTERIOR: in timber-framed section an inglenook carved firebeam. Two carved principal rafter trusses in rear wing, which is single storey. Exposed ceiling beams and joists. Cottage staircase. In cross wing, exposed beams and joists at first and second floor level, exposed purlins.
