Description
ELLESMERE PORT & NESTON LOWER MERSEY STREET SJ 4077 7/34 Nos 1 to 4 (Consec) (formerly listed as 24.2.71 Nos 1 to 7 (odd) GV II Early C19 terrace of 4,3-storey brown brick houses with basements. Gabled grey slate roof with chimneys at gables and between 3 and 5. Painted wedge lintels. Recessed sashes, 12-pane to ground and first floors, 9-pane to second floor. Entrance porticos, arranged in 2 pairs, with flat white-painted concrete canopies carried on square brick pilasters with simple capitals. Built for senior staff of Ellesmere or Chester and Ellesmere Canal Co.
