NEWBOLD ASTBURY C.P. FENCE LANE SJ 86 SE 5/48 Barn at Lockett's Tenement Farm

Farmbuilding. C17 incorporating earlier material. English garden wall bond brick with a C20 roof of plain tiles. Single storey, originally two storeys. Entrance front: ashlar plinth and quoins to the corners. Four camber-headed doorways to the ground floor with plank doors and ashlar hinge dressings. Two further doorways are now blocked. Above are diamond and cross-shaped breathers and one window of C20 date at left. Two gabled dormers containing central circular holes with ashlar sills. To the interior are a pair of base crucks joined at their apex by a yoke. Two smaller cruck beams have been adapted to form the beams set above internal buttresses.
