1. 1425 LONDON ROAD
Forecourt wall and gateway of Mr Wright's Almshouses SJ 6552 1/63A

2. Erected by the Trustees in 1667. A low wall of red brick extending over frontage at rear of pavement with moulded stone coping. At centre a fine gateway being a stone screen with segmental arch, columns on pedestals, entablature, moulded Jacobean coping and large side scrolls (one restored). In urgent need of repair when inspected but included in a proposal for the dismantling of the almshouses and their re-erection by Crewe's Almshouses in Beam Street (Map No 1/66).
