Description

SJ 55 NE 2/6 BUNBURY C.P. BOWE'S GATE ROAD Bunbury Locks Bunbury Locks Cottage, Black and White Cottage. & Black and White House II Block of three Cottages, early C17. Brick nogged timber frame with asbestos-cement slate roof. 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays including a slightly higher gabled wing (south) which forms a "T" plan. Small framing with angle braces and jettied apex to the east facing gable. Boarded entrance doors and flush casements, those windows in the upper storey in a dormer and the gables. Replaced plain brick stacks. Lean-to at the rear (west). Interior: Wide boarded doors on strap hinges, Ovolo and bevelled beams, inglenook beam. Said to have formerly been an inn.
