Description
DODCOTT CUM WILKESLEY C.P. HEYWOOD LANE SJ 64 SW 7/30 Wilkesley Farmhouse 12-1-67 - II Farmhouse. C17 with extensive C19 additions. Red Flemish bond brick with plain tile roof. Two storeys. Entrance front: of at least 4 builds. The two bays at right are recessed. The bay at far right appearing to be of the earliest build with a 3-light C19 ground floor casement window and a similar window at first floor level. To the right of this first floor window are 3 diamond patterns of blue brick diappering and there is one further partial diamond pattern at left. To the left of this bay is another, similar bay, though appearing from a vertical break in the brickwork to be of a different build. These two bays share a common roof with chimney stacks to their respective gable ends. To the left of this portion is a C19 T-shaped portion, its tail adjoining the gable end. To the re-entrant angle of which (on this side) has been added a further single-bay addition which has a 3-light cambered headed casement window at ground floor level with a single-light window to left of it and a C20 ½-glazed door in a lean-to C20 porch at right. To the first floor is a central 3-light casement window. This portion has a toothed band at eaves level. To the left of this is one gabled end of the C19 T-shaped portion. This has two cambered headed 2-light windows to the ground floor and a single first floor window of two lights and a single cambered-headed attic window above. The left hand side has an extensive C19 and C20 outshut to the ground floor level and the left hand side has a single-light casement window to the ground floor, one 2-light cambered-headed window to the first floor and a single attic window above. The rear has gabled wings at right (forming the other end of the T-shaped addition) and left of centre with walling of C19 and C20 dates and C20 fenestration. Interior: Chamfered ceiling beams to ground floor. Plank doors with strap hinges on lugs. Some C17 roof timbers.
