Description

SJ 67 NE ANTROBUS C.P. GIBB HILL, NORTHWICH RD North East Side 6/8 North Lodge to Belmont Hall 8/1/70 - II Lodge, circa 1755. Flemish bond brown brick; slate roof. 1 storey; symmetrical to drive. Replaced 6-panel door with replaced 3-pane overlight in projecting square Tuscan porch of sandstone with engaged columns at corners and 1/4-antae in re-entrants; banded stonework at sides; entablature. Dentilled eaves cornice. Recessed panel to each side of porch contains replaced recessed 12-pane sash. Clasping pilasters at corners; 1 pilaster on each end wall. Interior not inspected; oak panelling visible in left front room. The lodge may be by James Gibbs - see Belmont Hall, Warrington Road, Great Budworth CP. Listing NGR: SJ6501178377
