Description

DAVENHAM C.P. LONDON ROAD SJ 67 SE 2/37 No. 511 (The Lodge) 15.4.80 - II Gate Lodge to Davenham Hall, now house. Early C19. Whitewashed stuccoed brick with slate roof. Single storey. Drive front: projecting plinth and cornice at eaves level. Bowed wing to left with central doorway which has a pedimental surround and 6 raised and fielded panels to the door. Cross windows to either side. To the left and right hand reveals of the bow are paired strips with incised linear decoration. To right is recessed single bay with 4-light sash window. Hipped roof with lead flashings. To rear and left hand side of the property are pavilions of similar design extending the building. Formerly a gate lodge to Davenham Hall (q.v.).
