MANLEY SJ 57 SW Boilerhouse and Power Plant at Crossl 1184/3/10010 ey East Hospital 07-AUG-00 GV II Boiler house and workshops. 1902-04. Part of the original ancillary buildings of Crossley East Hospital. Common brick, with red brick and terracotta dressings and later C20 concrete tile roofs with coped gables and single side wall stack. Single storey. Windows are mainly original wooden glazing bar lights with hoppers, those to the front with segmental heads. 5 ranges forming a C- plan. In the centre, a double range, that to the rear with a clerestorey roof. In the centre, 2 windows flanked by doors with fanlights. Beyond, single windows, plus an additional door to right. To left, crosswise boilerhouse with clerestorey roof. In the projecting front gable, a 3-light opening with louvres, flanked by a single window to left and by a door and fanlight to right. To right, 2 crosswise ranges with facing gables, that to right with clerestorey roof. Left gable has original window and later C2fJ vehicle entrance, now boarded. Right gable has C20 vehicle entrance with roller shutter. Round window in gable. INTERIOR: Not accessible owing to asbestos contamination. Listing NGR: SJ5282173380
