Description

WEAVERHAM C.P. GRANGE LANE (North Side) SJ 67 SW 4/64 Former stables at Hefferston Grange. II GV Formerly stables, now storage: early-mid C18 with C20 alterations. Flemish bond red brick with washed stone dressings, red coated, hipped bellcast Welsh slate roof. Rectangular plan. 2-storey, formerly symmetrical 5-bay south front. Flush quoins, plain band at 1st floor and moulded cornice. Central bay steps forward slightly and has a tall entrance with flat gauged brick heads with stone keyblocks. Similar heads to original openings where they survive. At centre on the ridge is an octagonal wooden cupola with a clock, bell hanging and an ogee roof with a weathervane. Listing NGR: SJ6037373526
