Description

SJ 68 SE 3/3 ANTROBUS C.P. CROWLEY Crowley Grange GV II Farmhouse (now house), probably early C17, altered; extended mid C20. Oak small framing with plaster panels; clay tile roofs. 1 storey plus attic bedrooms. Oak-framed front wing of 2 rooms, almost symmetrical, has replaced boarded door with small casement of three 2-pane lights to each side, low sandstone plinth, central ridge chimney and flush gable chimney, left. Slightly truncated pair of full crucks in left gable-end has recessed small-framed infil. Rear wing of 2 windows recased in brick, probably early C18 and altered mid C20; further wing added at rear mid C20. Interior: Front wing has altered lobby-entrance plan, altered inglenook behind lobby, damaged internal pair of full cricks. The rear wing, much altered, contains a damaged pair of full crucks; a sandstone cruck-base is visible at junction of wings. Listing NGR: SJ6655981647
