1/21 Premises of Gorden Sheds
II
Former canal stables, 1841 of brick painted white with graded grey slate gabled roof. Basket-arched cart entrance near left end; other openings have semi-circular arches. Paired stable windows; horseshoe-shaped pitch-holes; 2 ridge chimneys of brick; brick date in raised diamond in west gable. 2 archways near centre of front are altered to form vehicular entrance; a light shed abuts each end of front/ Arches and cills are painted black.
The front is a good, vigorously expressed example of early Victorian functional canal-building style.
