Description

The amended Conservation Area boundary includes a number of listed buildings and their settings, areas of historic parkland, groups of trees and certain non listed buildings of interest. The listed buildings include Comer Lodge, Monks Well, Rupt Cottage, Salterswall House, the Coach House, Salterswall with trees forming a back cloth and generous setting for them. Tree belts also acknowledge the parkland character of the north of the village. The historic form of the village centre can be seen adjacent Salterswall House and The Old Rectory where fields come close up to the High Street properties in many places.
